The Christmas season has officially begun – at least in Richardson, Texas.  Happy times are hopping and happening.

Several days ago Richardson had its annual Christmas parade, and some of my nearest and dearest were in the parade.  (I have wanted to post about this event earlier, but… better later than never.) Ever-Lovin’ and I had a funeral to go to, so we couldn’t stay to watch the actual parade.  We decided  going to the pre-parade was the next best thing.  And it was so much fun.

Be still my heart.  I really, really, really liked this vintage red pickup.  Vintage cars are always crowd pleasers, and I especially liked this.  Do you understand?  I like this pickup.

So many of the local groups came to showcase their organizations.  This is an impressive eagle- I think it is from a scout group.

It was amazing how many dogs were in the parade.  Perhaps this rescued cocker was my favorite.  I like her.  I love her.  How fantastic – so regal!

There was no shortage of cheerleaders.  These Pearce girls are too cool for school.

The Richardson High School Eagle mascot is looking good.  There were also marching bands, but they were in another staging area.  Every parade needs bands.

Most of the Shriners were riding on a trailer, but I loved this Shriner on the big bike.

What a precious lady.

Little ballerinas were beautiful.  I loved how they made sure to hold hands (Someone taught them well.  They did not want to get lost.)

Wow!  Violins playing Christmas music.  Whoda thunk violins would be in the parade.  They sounded pretty good.

Brentfield (my former school) girls were cute.  Made me a little sad.  None of these little ones knew me.

These girls really worked on this float.  Great Job.

Now this is the reason I got up early to preview the parade.  Some members of the Celebration Choir of FBC Richardson were in the parade to promote their Christmas program called Carols – The Sights and Sounds of Christmas.  Each year the choir presents a wonderful concert that is free and open to the entire community.

Two of my favorite people in the parade were Hot Rod (my grandson) and his Mother Mikel.  Mikel is in the Celebration Choir, and Hot Rod is in the program.

Sweet Mother of Pearl.  This choir member (sorry I do not know her name) was above and beyond.  Loved the tree over her head, and her boa lit up.  Won-der-ful.

I am so proud to know these girls.  Becky, Ann, and Wynette from the Living Stones (and also choir members) were   great representatives.  Love these ladies.
