Maybe you remember the picture – The Living Stones Rock.
Our Bible Study Fellowship class of First Baptist Church Richardson – The Living Stones – won the most creative class picture contest. (Yes, two other classes also won, but we think we were “Best Overall”. –We do not lack for confidence.)
I have been told that this picture has even been making the rounds on the internet.
As you can tell, this is a group of fun loving ladies. They are also very mission minded. In any given week, you will find members of this class volunteering at a cancer center, sending cards to shut-ins, working with International Friends, mentoring at a grade school, sending Christmas stockings to children in The Valley, sorting shoes to be sent here and around the world at Buckner International Center for Humanitarian Aid, and ministering to children in CPS care. I know I have left out projects. Please forgive me.
This is an advertisement. If you need a Bible Study Fellowship class that loves the Lord and strives to be His hands and feet on Earth, please join us at 8:00 am each Sunday morning in room 209 at FBC Richardson for Bible Study. (I know it is early, but then you have the rest of the day for relaxation and/or fun. Plus you beat the crowds at the restaurants,) I know from experience that this class will love and care for you through the good times and the bad times.
Well tonight was the night we received our reward for basically making fools of ourselves (We laughed and enjoyed every minute of our photo shoot – that might be a lie for some folks.) Thank you Janet for such a cute idea.
First, we met at Urban Eatz in the East Side Village (Campbell and 75) for supper.
It was wonderful to sit outside on this beautiful fall evening, and there was so much fun and laughter at our table. I firmly believe that gathering around a table for fellowship is a form of worship.
After supper (I guess I should say dinner – but I am a supper kind of girl), we headed over to Yumilicious Yogurt for our prize. Yumilicious is a yogurt shop where the soft serve yogurt choices are in machines along one wall.
There are many choices. Some like the cheesecake, birthday cake, red velvet type yogurts. They have chocolate and thin mints flavors also. My favorites are the fruit flavors. I LOVE the avocado (I know this sounds strange, but it is so good.) and the mango yogurts. Tonight the mango had habaneros in it, and I wasn’t so sure about that. Nancy LOVED it. She liked the pepper flavor in the cool yogurt with its heat slightly burning the back of her throat. Rather than try the mango with habaneros, I opted for the strawberry.
After we finally decided which yogurt we wanted, then we had a bazillion choices of toppings – fruits, candies, nuts, marshmallows, etc). I always get Heath Bar and strawberries because I want Heath Bar crumbles and strawberries. I realize it is somewhat strange, but that is part of the fun of Yumilicious. You get to make the yogurt your own.
Here was the deal. Since we were THE WINNERS, Candy (Our fearless Pastor of Education) treated each of us to a bowl of yummy Yumilicious yogurt. She says she is thinking of another contest, and we are already planning to win. It doesn’t matter what the contest is, WE WILL, WE WILL, ROCK YOU! This was so much fun. Thank you Candy and the church for the delicious treat and the fun fellowship we had tonight. We like being THE WINNERS!
Blessings to you and yours,
