I am proud to say that I am a member of The Living Stones Bible Fellowship Class of First Baptist Church in Richardson.  I can not begin to tell you what these dear ladies mean to me and to each other.  These are ladies that love the Lord, and naturally show his grace and mercy to others on a regular basis – change that to a daily or hourly basis.  I hesitate to list their mission projects in fear that it will sound like glory to us, but it really is not like that.  Their heart, hands, and feet are God’s heart, hands, and feet in our neighborhood.  They support Cornerstone – an inner city church.  They send greeting to shut-ins, buy birthday and Christmas gifts for children in CPS care, send Christmas stockings to the Valley so the children who live at “The Dump” may have a taste of Christmas, provide Bibles to disadvantaged children on their birthdays through Birthday Blessings, and that is just the beginning of the list.  Individually they mentor, volunteer, take food to the sick, support each other, etc…

That said.  We now have braggin’ rights.  Here is their picture that won a contest at FBC Richardson.  We do know how to have fun!  And because we are not afraid to make fools of ourselves (Don’t you just love the lips?), we get to go to Yummalicious.  Wow!  I love the mango and the avocado yogurt – try it.  It is good stuff!  (Two other groups were also honored also, but they called our name last, and that must mean we were the best.)

Sweet Debbie is the youngest member of our Living Stones Bible Fellowship Class (Also known to some as Sunday School.)  Debbie is precious, sweet, kind, funny, and altogether wonderful.  She is even an author.  As a special party treat for our class, she, her husband Mike, and her mother Judy hosted our class and the Albers men’s class to dinner at Chili’s.  (She has some perks because she works for Brinker.)  Oh my goodness!  There were around thirty of us, and we had the best time visiting and laughing, and eating and laughing, and laughing and eating, and…  (You get the idea.)

When we arrived, chips, hot sauce, and queso dip were on the tables.  (I always eat too many chips – but they are so good.)  The waitresses and waiters were efficient in getting our drinks and then taking our orders.  You would have never known they were in charge of such a big crowd.

While we were waiting for our food, Debbie shared some “secrets” about us.  I will never tell, but there are some pretty unusual stories to be told about these folks.  Okay, just a few secrets, but no names.  Someone got a driver’s license at age 13 – oh my!  Someone’s first car was a used taxi – now he drives a Corvette.  Someone assisted Ronald Reagan on stage – I’m impressed.  Someone fell forward over their bass drum – just like the cartoons.  One couple met at the grocery store.  I wonder if it was in the bakery among the sweets?  Finally, can you believe that one of our own rode a Harley on her last birthday?  Wild thing!

Debbie encouraged us to bring school supplies for Northrich Elementary.  Members Janet and Evelyn mentor at Northrich, and there are children there that could use our help with school supplies. As usual, our class came through with flying colors.  The entire booth was filled with school supplies, and more were added after I took this fuzzy picture. (I am so sorry.  I thought it was okay.)

Birthday Blessings Bibles came in the mail today.

1 Peter 2:5 (our verse)

…you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

I do love these ladies.  Thank you God for the Living Stones.
