What a wonderful day of celebration. Tonna and Winston have been married fifty golden years!
Love their wedding picture. Good looking couple!
Sweet Mother of Pearl, we are not old enough for this to be happening to our peers. I remember going to a golden wedding anniversary somewhere up in the Panhandle when I was in the sixth grade. I wore a pink and black “sack” dress – my first straight dress, and I felt so grown up. As I remember that day, the people celebrating their fiftieth anniversary were old. I thought Ever-Lovin’s grandparents were old when they had a golden anniversary. The gold trimmed candy dish we gave them seemed appropriate at the time. When my parents had their fiftieth anniversary, Daddy was deep in the throes of Alzheimer’s. Can this possible be happening to our friends?
I’m here to tell you, Tonna and Winston are not old. They are active, get up every day productive working people. They must have married when they were babies. All I know is, it has been impressive how much they have always seemed to love, like, and support each other. In this day and age, this is something to celebrate!
Three kinds of cake were served (chocolate, raspberry, and a white cake with lemon filling- I think) Do I have a picture of the cakes? NO! I loved the white cake (wish I had a piece right now). Ever-Lovin’ officially tasted all three cakes, and gave all of them his highest stamp of approval. The tea punch was so refreshing on this hot day. Then there was cheese and crackers, fruit, and nuts on another table – yum! Everything was tasty and delicious!
A huge crowd was on hand to celebrate this happy occasion. They had school friends, church friends, former students, and family gathered to honor them.
The table flower arrangements were absolutely gorgeous. What fun it was to look at all the pictures on the tables.
The twins played beautiful music. I am amazed at their talent!
What a lovely picture of Winston and his bride. Good looking couple! And, they are not old.
Celebrating with Tonna and Winston today was wonderful. The food was delicious, the decorations were beautiful, and the company beyond enjoyable. May Tonna and Winston have many more happy years together.
Blessings to you and yours,
