Casa Flamingo
Cathy is Ever-Lovin’s sister. She enjoys and is good at decorating (understatement). Her homes have been on the Bastrop home tours more than once. A few years back, she moved into a grand old home and commenced to spit and shine it into a thing of beauty.
Then the house next door became available to buy. It is a new home that looks vintage. Major selling points included a downstairs bedroom and insulation. She sold “old” (green) and bought “new that looks vintage” (yellow). Of course, it is gorgeous!
New home is known to one and all as Casa Flamingo. Those pink birds that stand on stilted legs great you at every turn.
You will start smiling when you drive up and notice the two tall flamingos in the front yard. This lovely couple is known to wear Santa hats and Bunny ears at appropriate times of the year.
Go immediately to the backyard. Be still my heart! I love, love, love the backyard of Casa Flamingo.
The bright lime green and pink color scheme is refreshing and relaxing. Everything matches. See the pink geraniums. Of course they match the flamingos and the pink chairs and cushions.
There are flamingos, flamingos everywhere. You will find them in the yard, near the little house, by the pool, and in every flower bed. A few like to hide, and it is such a surprise when they suddenly appear.
These lovely birds are well taken care of. Each year Cathy’s flock gets a new coat of pink paint. They are so loved. Did I hear right? Don’t they have names? Love it!
This year Cathy removed the pond and added a covered deck next to the little house. Wonderful! Wouldn’t you enjoy sitting by the pool like this? What a good life.
To be sure though, my favorite thing in the garden is Charlie. She is amazing. I think she starts swimming in early spring. That cold water doesn’t phase her. What a cutie!
Here are a few more pictures to make you drool.
This is where I like to sit. The pink stripe pillows just pop next to the green cushions.
Every Southern garden needs a bottle tree!
Wouldn’t you know? Even the anole lizard matches – lime green!
Thank you Cathy for sharing your garden with us. What a joy it is.
Blessings to you and yours,
PS: The inside of Casa Flamingo is also wonderful, but that is another blog.
