Heather is a red-tailed hawk living in Dallas, Texas. For the past five years, Heather has nested and laid her eggs on the ledge of this Bank of America’s tenth floor.
We can see the nest from the windows in the infusion room. She is up there. I promise – second window from the left in the corner next to the third window. Now get this! The people in the office building have set up a webcam so you can follow Heather, Henry, and the two chicks Hitch, and Hatch each day from about 7 am to 8 pm. Go online to Heather the Hawk.com to follow them. It is beautiful and addicting. (Just this week the ads have become annoying, but do go anyway.)
Soon Hitch and Hatch will be flying. Tonight Heather was out, and I thought for sure the chicks were going to fly out of the nest. I was so scared for them. I wanted them to wait until their mother got home. I remember the feelings I had when my boys were “sprouting their wings.”
There are also pictures on the site showing recaps of this year’s entire adventure. Look it up. I think you will like it.
