Fall is in the air, and the October Round Table decorations were planned to celebrate the season. These decorations have to be simple because we set up the morning of the luncheon, and must plan time to plate the food also.
A “welcome board” greeted the ladies to our gathering.
Since our speaker has written a devotional Bible for gardeners, we placed fall flowers, pumpkins, gourds, and a watering can on the welcome table. (I will share more about Shelly and her book later. She was so interesting.)
Nothing says fall like pumpkins, so… we used an abundance of pumpkins (and gourds).
In order to add a fresh touch to the tables, we used floor length white tablecloths and topped them with black and whited checkered cloths.
White pumpkins were set on pedestal cake stands in the center of each table. More pumpkins and gourds were then added for pops of color.
The black and orange harlequin bows topping each pumpkin gave a finishing touch. I love this ribbon, and I found it at Dollar Tree (Everything’s a Dollar) of all places.
Bowls of candy corn and peanuts were also on each table. The combination of sweet and salty is so tasty.
The candy corn we used was the autumn mix that contains the candy pumpkins also.
When the tables were set, they did look festive with the yellow quiche and the orange slices topping the green salad. I will share more recipes from our menu in other posts.
It was so much fun planning for this gathering. The ladies on the October Round Table Committee were wonderful to work with. It was a good day. Festive decorations, delicious food, an interesting and inspiring speaker, and dear friends gathered around the tables. The First Baptist Church of Richardson’s Round Table luncheons are on the second Tuesday of each month. Each time I have attended these meetings I have been blessed.
Blessings to you and yours,
The tablecloths are from linentablecloth.com. This is a great source for reasonably priced tablecloths and more.
FYI: The plates and napkins were also from Dollar Tree.
