I saw Scrabble tiles being sold at the antique mall. Little messages filled the trays. The idea of a note of greeting or love appealed to me. Last week while cleaning out closets, I found a small green bag of Scrabble tiles. On the outside of the bag was written “Extras”. I knew what I wanted to do with them.
At first I thought I might just scatter the messages around the house.
Then I saw this old wooden cake stand, and I thought maybe if I could pile all the tiles in it and others would create messages also.
At first I put “Be Mine” around the rim of the plate, but it was a little strange.
When I brought the stand and tiles downstairs, I set it on the coffee table.
I set the little tray under the wooden stand, and added a message. (I thought it somewhat romantic, but….)
The first day Hot Rod saw the tiles he didn’t get the idea. He was trying to make E=MC squared, but couldn’t make the little 2 for squared. I thought it interesting how his mind works.
But…. When Hot Rod got home from school today, Pretty Baby was here. He began playing with the tiles. This is what he made. He got it! Then he asked for the camera. This is a picture I will keep. It made my day. He is happy to have a baby cousin, and she is lucky to have him.
Blessings to you and yours,
