While in rehab, I started thinking about the classic children’s book Goodnight Moon by Helen Wise Brown. In this charming story with striking illustrations by Clement Hurd a little bunny goes through the ritual of saying goodnight to objects in his room.
As I thought about this story, I began thinking about saying “Hello” to my home. My story does not rhyme, but… After being gone for two weeks, I am thankful to be home.
Hello, hutch in the kitchen red.
Hello, dishes on the pantry shelves
Hello, toile trays that fill the walls.
Hello, vintage shelf and the royalty.
Hello, paperwhites which finally decided to bloom.
Hello, den with its comfy sofa and eclectic decor.
Hello, shelves that are too cluttered I know.
Hello, stairs lined with fields of bluebonnets on the walls. (Someday I will climb you again.)
Hello pansies that give an explosion of color to our front walk.
It is good to be home.
Blessings to you and yours,
No time to stage these pictures – just sharing my joy of being home.
