Christmas Angel – a Miracle

Super Sister called and was beyond sad.  While on a home tour, she lost an angel pin that she had had since childhood.  This is her story and I wanted to share it with you.

Here is a picture of my angel.

Angel
Story as I recollect:
When I was about 10-12 years old, Mother and I were shopping for Christmas. We were looking around Bee’s Dress shop, the most stylish shop in Andrews at the time. To get something from there was always a thrill no matter what it might be. Often it was socks, but we would get a dress or a sweater at the time of the seasons. I was around 10-12, and the store was really for adults and teens. My shop was The Little Shop across the street. As mother was looking around, I was looking at jewelry in the jewelry case and spotted this angel. I have to tell you this at this point, we hardly ever got anything during Christmas. If we did it counted as a present! Mother came up to me and ask if I would like to have this pin. I was so excited and thought she was the most beautiful pin. I have treasured her for about 50 years, and she is very dear to my heart!

Last week-end my sister-in-law and I went on the Georgetown Heritage Home Tour. On my way home it was dark and I needed to stop by the store to pick up some food for our animals. I was tired, exhausted and just ready to be home. I looked down and my angel was missing from my coat. I was crushed and really had a broken heart. This has been a hard Christmas for me, and this was the straw. I met Paul in the kitchen and fell into his arms crying. He suggested I call the Heritage Society on Monday morning thinking that maybe someone might have found it and turned her in. They are only opened on Thursdays and Fridays but there was a phone number, so I called and left a message. Then I noticed a place to leave a comment on their web site, I did that, and there was even an email address. So, I sent an email! Obsessed I was!! Right away a very kind response came my way. Then on Tuesday one of the homeowners that had her house on the tour had reported she had found an angel pin in her home. Arrangements to pick her up were made for Thursday, and on that day we were reunited. How special that someone from a Heritage Society would find it. These people value the past and the part it plays in our history. I cried when I saw her again. This truly was a Christmas present of love and kindness. Just thought I would share this story with you.

I prayed for Super Sister to find her angel because I knew how special this little vintage pin was to her.  What a special Christmas miracle.

Blessings to you and yours,

Love you!
