Jefferson’s Christmas at Mrs. Ralph’s

The Jeffersons are a group of ladies that have been friends for many many moons, and they enjoy celebrating birthdays and holidays together throughout the year.  For our annual Jefferson Christmas Party, we were invited to Mrs. Ralph’s home. (Mrs. Ralph is my friend who channels Ralph Lauren in her decorating style.)

Needless to say, her home is beyond wonderful, and I am so excited to have pictures to share.  In this post, we will visit her breakfast room.  Mrs. Ralph has a talent for mixing high style with rustic touches.

Be still my heart.  I love Mrs. Ralph’s breakfast room.  It is huge.  Eight can easily sit at her table.  The tartan wingback chairs at each end of the table make me swoon.

The table decorations remind me of a hunting lodge table. (Not that I have ever been to a hunting lodge, but this is what how I think a hunting lodge should look.)  Large gold deer grace each end of the table, and hunting horns hold candles.

Christmas greenery with pinecones and red accents surround the dear and candles.

The place settings included Lenox Holiday Tartan service plate and Ralph Lauren Tartan accent plates. Tartan placemats were topped with round black mats, and a rattan charger. I could get used to being served on these dishes. I like them. I love them!

The napkin rings held tartan trimmed napkins and had tags of Faith, Joy, Perseverance, Blessings, and Hope.  On the back of each tag were descriptors of the attributes.  We enjoyed sharing these around the table.

Gathering around the table with sweet precious friends makes for a wonderful Christmas celebration. (In this picture we are reading our messages on the napkin rings.)  The lunch prepared by Mrs. Ralph was delicious.  Here is her menu for those of you who like to know.

Roast Beef with gravy

Carrots

Potato Casserole

Green Bean Bundles (wrapped in bacon)

Deviled eggs

Rolls

Apple Pie for dessert

Wouldn’t  you expect to be served such a meal at a hunting lodge?  I kid you not – Mrs. Ralph makes the best roast.  It was fantastic!

What a blessing to be with these dear friends.  We missed and remembered fondly our friend Mary who died a few months ago.  It was bitter sweet.  Her passing also made us resolve to cherish each other while we can.

Blessings to you and yours,

Thank you Mrs. Ralph for letting me share your home.

For my readers, I am happy to say that I have more to share.
