Friend BB is happy!  We are now the same age.  For two weeks she has been older than me.

If I must be a year older, my friends know how to ease the pain.  Lunch at Neiman Marcus certainly can make a girl feel special.  (Even if I am now “officially” old, I still think of myself as a girl.)

Be still my heart!  To my delight, they had Lanabird cookies on the table.  Birds were the theme of the day.  That made me happy.

Bird ornaments graced each napkin.  So cute!

Dining at Mariposa’s is a treat.  The service is excellent, and the food delicious.  From start to finish we felt pampered.  The meal began with a cup of chicken consume with a small cheddar?? biscuit.  Delicious!

Then the popover with strawberry butter was served.  The popovers are fantastic, and they are a wonderful treat.

Salads on the menu are called “composed salads”.   I love that name.  I got the crab cake salad, and I especially liked the crunchy julienne vegetables.  I didn’t get pictures of all the dishes, but the ladies next to me who got the salmon tacos were very pleased.

The mandarin soufflé with chicken salad and fresh fruit was also popular.  The poppyseed dressing was deemed delicious.

Then there was dessert!  The presentation was impressive, and the cake was delicious.

I think we liked it!

What a wonderful day!  We were pampered, dined on fantastic food, and celebrated our friendships.

Friend BB is so much fun.  She is noted for creating “jewelry” from ornaments.  Today was no different.  The bird looked lovely on her pretty top.
