Have a welcoming entry.
Do not let your entry be an afterthought.
An entry needs to welcome guest and make them feel at home.
Be sure your home makes a good first impression.
These are the type of statements made by designers. In fact, some designers might make the entry decor their top priority. Trouble is – At our house, we really do not have an entry. We have a 1970’s home without an entry. (I can still remember builders boasting about their homes having no wasted space.) In our home, there is a small landing before you step down into the den. Many of you share this dilemma. What I have attempted to do is place a buffet on the back wall of the den and decorate it as if it is an entry piece.
So this is the fall “entry” for this year.
Welcome fall.
What has been done this year is super simple, but I like it.
The little straw squirrel and hedgehog were “clearanced-out” at Pottery Barn last year.
We first bought little bright eyed and bushy tailed squirrel. We loved him so much that we decided to make another trek down Central Expressway to Knox Street. Then little squirrel had a companion – a friend. They are precious!
Sunflowers are a favorite. With the brown animals, the bright yellow petals with black centers give a touch of color and really pop. To go along with the natural theme, a birch wrapped vase holds the sunflowers.
A few added acorns and fall leaves fill the tray. This was super easy, but it makes me feel that I have a welcoming entry.
Blessings to you and yours,
Send me pictures of your fall decor. I will share.
