Eastside, Richardson – A refreshing blend of upscale shopping, dining, office space, and luxury apartment homes, Eastside, Richardson provides a vibrant focal point for the surrounding area.(Eastside, Richardson website)
Many times when Eastside,Richardson comes up in conversation, people do not know about this area. For years we longed for more restaurants in Richardson, and on the eastside of Central Expressway (US 75) at Campbell Road there are now restaurants choices.
These are some of the restaurants around the traffic circle, and there are more down the street. A couple of these I have blogged about in the past Wicked Po’ Boys, and Pho Crimson. Yumilicious is my favorite yogurt – try the avocado. Trust me it is delicious. Urban Eatz is a go to place for dinner with friends. It has burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, and delicious salads. Twisted Root Burgrs makes excellent hamburgers, and we love Panera Bread for a quick delicious lunch. Sweet Mix serves dessert crepes, sundaes, waffles, and snow cones. There are a couple of Mexican restaurants (Chilioso’s Mexican Bistro for one) in the area as well as Tiff’s Treats that makes fantastic cookies to order. You can also enjoy Jersey Mike’s Subs here. Asian restaurants include Kampong Asian Fusion, and a new Japanese fondu restaurant called Yoshi Shabu Shabu (sounds interesting). I have left out some, but you get the idea – there are plenty of choices of places to eat at Eastside, Richardson.
But… on this evening, there was something even more exciting happening at Eastside, Richardson. The King Lives – Yes, Elvis was there.
Kraig Parker, “World Premier Elvis Presley Tribute Artist” performed. Sweet Mother of Pearl. It was so much fun.
Die-hard Elvis fans were there. This lady had Elvis tattoos covering her body. Yes, on her calves, on her shins, on her arms, on her chest. I would say she was a mega fan.
Kraig even thought this dude a little “scary”. The atmosphere at the concert was so lighthearted and fun.
Children (that is Hot Rod), and…
Adults danced to the music.
What a good time was had while we listened to Elvis hits, and Kraig Parker does have the moves and the voice.
The crowd brought folding chairs or sat on ledges on this not too hot summer evening.
Miss Personality was visiting friend Mrs. Ralph, and she enjoyed the evening with a Slurpee from the 7-Eleven. She is pretty and so cute! I love being around her.
Yah, Baby!
Of course, there was a costume change for the second set. “Elvis” was scheduled to perform from 5:00-9:00 that evening, and he hinted that he would be there longer.
We left after this second set, but I would have loved to have stayed longer.
Good news! If you enjoy Elvis, Kraig Parker will be performing with his band and the Richardson Symphony at the Eisemann Center on August 16, 2014 (the date of Elvis Presley’s death). The Aloha from Hawaii concert will be preformed. It should be a fantastic show.
What a night! Thank you Eastside, Richardson for a first class free show. Yes, The King Lives! Kraig Parker certainly pays tribute to to legacy of Elvis Presley.
Blessings to you and yours,
