Father’s Day 2014 – King of our Pride

Many moons ago Ever-Lovin’ mentioned he liked lions.  You have to realize – Ever-Lovin’ seldom if ever says he likes something, and when he does, I go out of my way to try to please him.  Thus, I began collecting lions to give him – and we do have our fair share of lions.

For the Father’s Day table, I thought it would be acceptable to have a tablescape using “his” lions in honor of the king of our pride and the other fathers in our family.

Father's Day

On top of the ecru tablecloth,  a piece of burlap was scrunched. (Mrs. Ralph is the professional “scruncher” in our group, and you can certainly tell that her services were not available on this table.)  I love this rustic burlap that was officially made to cover and protect plants.

Several vintage lions from “his” collection guarded the table.

I bought the small pot of white hydrangeas at the Krogers, and the white roses and rosemary are from our garden.

Crowns seemed to go along with the king theme, and I already had several crowns to add to the tablescape.  The cross on the top of this crown seems so fitting for Ever-Lovin’.

Leather chargers are one of my favorites, and they scream “manly”.  The Wedgwood plates are our everyday dishes, and they can go on almost any table.   Black napkins filled the hammered brass napkin rings.

The table was super easy to pull together because I already had everything but the small pot of hydrangeas.

Wanted to share the picture of Hot Rod with Pretty Baby. (I did better.)

What a blessing to have all the family over to celebrate.

Blessings to you and yours,

In future posts I will share about our meal and give you some new recipes.

Thank you for reading Lanabird.

Love ya,
