He is risen indeed!
5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. 6″He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. 7″Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you.”…(Matthew 28: 5-7)
Signs of new life are beginning to emerge in our yard, and the flowers remind me of the new life provided by Jesus’ death and resurrection. Easter is such a glorious time.
As we prepared for the Easter season, the white cross was placed in the yard.
It has been plain, stark, white.
On Easter morning, we turn the cross around to proclaim the glorious words, “He is risen.” What Good News!
Easter provides a time for reflection and renewal.
Several weeks ago, Hot Rod asked what we would write with the Scrabble tiles for Easter. We decided – He is Risen would be perfect. Hot Rod then set about finding the letters and putting them in the tray. Then he said, “Be sure to share this on your blog.” Touched my heart.
I have been told that early Christians would greet one another with the words, “He is risen.” Then the other person would reply, “He is risen indeed.” Today we continue proclaiming the Good News.
Christ the Lord is Risen Today
Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Earth and heaven in chorus say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia!
2. Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!
