Christmas decorations are put away. More exactly – they are crammed into the closet. The home’s feeling a little bare. I wanted the dining room table to be wintery, cozy, and inviting. Here is how it began.
While shopping the Pottery Barn sale (Wish I would have gone earlier.), Ever-Lovin’ said, “That hedgehog is cute.” Faint and fall over. I kid you not. Ever-Lovin’ seldom and I do mean seldom mentions that he likes something. I had to buy cute straw hedgehog. Ever-Lovin’ liked him, and so… we had to buy him. He is so adorable. He certainly goes on a winter table.
The frosted pine branches were also on the sale table for a super bargain. I cornered the market on these beauties.
Be still my heart! Super Sister gave me this gorgeous large (and I do mean large) silver bowl for Christmas. I like it. I love it. I could not wait to use it.
Those three things were the beginning of this Cozy Winter Table.
A wintery bird nest, evergreen branches, frosted pinecones, acorns, and a “birch” candle fill the bowl. Two glittery birds dwell in this winter wonderland. Mirror placemats sparkle, and the vase etched with stars shines. There are miniature pinecones surrounding the “birch” candle.
A couple of mercury glass accent pieces complete the look.
Here’s the finished table – well, almost.
We went back to Pottery Barn for bushy tailed squirrel – thought adorable hedgehog needed a companion.
More greenery was added to the bowl, and in the meantime, a bird fell out of the nest.
At this point in time, this is our Cozy Winter Table. As usual – Anything around this house is subject to change.
Blessings to you and yours,
Pottery Barn does not know me. Just sharing.
