Home Tour Remodeled Bathrooms and More

Posted on: Jul 8, 2013        In: Gatherings        With: No comments

John and Pat invited us over to see their recently remodeled bathrooms.  Yea!  I was so excited.  Pat and John are fantastic people, and it is always so much fun to be with them.  John is an all-around good guy who always has a smile on his face.  Pat is active in volunteering at hospitals, and she also leads the Living Stones Bible Fellowship Class in our efforts to support a Child Protective Services caseworker and the children she serves.  Pat is a good listener and makes everyone feel special.

Recently they moved to a “new to them” home, and have made beautiful updates in the short time they have lived there.  We were interested in seeing their remodeled bathrooms because sometime in the next millennium we plan to remodel our bathrooms.  Plus, I hoped to get pictures of their home to share with you.

I love the exterior of their home with the Austin stone trim.  They fly the flag every day.

Sweet Mother of Pearl.  Even the front porch wall is decorated with an iron piece.

From the entry, you can see into the den.  The arches and high ceilings are great.

The antique hall tree in the entry has such clean lines.  Pat has many antiques and collectibles in her home, but her home  is far from cluttered.  It is amazing how she does it.

I love, love, love the gray walls with the white woodwork in the den.  I could sit in this room and relax all day.  It is so calming.  In fact, I love all the colors in their home.  The colors feel fresh, modern and soothing.

Pat and her sister are avid quilters.  For July 4th she had this beautiful quilt on her dining room table.  This was a living room area with a smaller dining room beyond the table.  Pat flipped the rooms and made the larger space the dining room.  It works so well.

There is plenty of space for a sitting area.  The glass door cabinet is a perfect way to display quilts.

Be still my heart!  For years Pat has collected Longaberger baskets.  These are special patriotic collector baskets.  I love this display.

The iron light fixture in the breakfast room is great.  I also like the little black cabinet.

Pat has the most amazing collection of antique rolling pins.  They are unusual and make a wonderful display.

There are even miniature rolling pins.  Wow!

What a lovely bedroom.  I like it.  I love it.

The remodeled master bathroom is wonderful!  My pictures do not do it justice.  The bathroom is beyond beautiful.

The white marble countertops are gorgeous, wonderful, amazing, and…  Can you tell I like them?

Glass tile accents are around the tub and in the shower.  Good looking!

Okay, just look at this.  This is the tile on the floor of the shower.  The basket weave pattern is fantastic.

The over-sized shower is so beautiful.  It is like being at a spa or luxury hotel.  I love the large tiles, the glass tile trim, and the rubbed bronze fixtures.  This is high-end living – if you ask me.

Sorry about all the reflection.  In the hall bath, there is another large shower.  Again they used the large tiles with tile trim.  My picture does not show how pretty this bathroom is.  The picture on the right was made by John and Pat’s daughter when she was in a pre-school art class at the museum.  Touches such as these give character to a home.

The vintage Torquay pottery pieces caught my attention.  Torquay pottery has the best quotes on each piece.   “Don’t worry.  It may never happen.”  Great advice.

Thank you John and Pat for sharing your home.

Blessings to you and yours,
