Laugh and Be Loved. It was an afternoon of fellowship and laughs. The event was in honor of all the Bible Fellowship leaders of First Baptist Church Richardson. Since every lady in the Living Stones Bible Fellowship class takes ownership of our class, we are all leaders – so we all attended, laughed and felt loved.
The afternoon began in the fellowship hall. Sweet Mother of Pearl. This was cute. There were three stations with themes from the sitcoms – I Love Lucy, Friends, and Seinfeld.
Just look at this. Here are Lucy and Ethel in the chocolate factory. They have the total outfit – dresses accessorized with ear clips and pearls, the hats, and the most importantly the attitudes. Louanne (on the left) is our resident star of TV and film. These two ladies knew how to ham it up, and it was hilarious.
Smoking on the job (and you know what was happening to the candy). No wonder they were fired.
Lucy and Ethel’s helpers were too cute. They wore rolled up jeans, their boyfriends’ white shirts and red and white scarfs. They really looked the part. I love the class ring on a chain around Judith’s neck. A perfect finishing touch.
Number One son played the part of the Soup Nazi from the Soup Kitchen on Seinfeld. You could have any soup you wanted as long as it was potato soup. Let it be known that the potato soup was delicious. The difficulty with this station was that there are many sweet little ladies (and men for that matter) that are leaders in our Bible Fellowship classes. How do you yell “No Soup for You!” to a sweet somewhat elderly customer?
For the ones that knew the show, it was great fun.
The Central Perk’s girls were fantastic. These are from our youth department (I am sure it has a better name, but I am from the Dark Ages, and I do not know it. I need to find out.) They knew how to run a coffee shop.
Loved the menu board. Bible Fellowships are the primary vehicles for learning and connecting at FBCR.
I told you people were having fun. Bruce’s laugh is contagious. Barbara is one of the dearest people I have ever known. I value her friendship.
Here are a few more people shots. Sorry I can’t show everyone.
I promised An I would show a better picture of her than I did last time. Aren’t they the cutest couple?
Nancy and Evelyn – Two “rocks” of the Living Stones class.
More fun!
Friend BB loved seeing this fine gentleman whose name I hope is Bill. But it might be Jack, or Ted, or …. “Bill” knew Sherman before BB and Sherman married. Gatherings such as these are important for renewing friendships.
Super people!
Nancy and Ann are longtime workers in our Bible Fellowship classes.
Candy (our wonderful leader) and friends.
Then it was time to move to the auditorium. ( I really have a bazillion more pictures, but I have to stop for now.)
The Skit Guys were great. I laughed and laughed. They presented skits of Bible stories. Had you ever thought of Lazareth stinking after being dead three days? Or what it must have been like when Adam and Eve first realized they were naked? Too funny. If you did not get to see The Skit Guys, visit their website – http://skitguys.com
The skit Grace was so powerful It showed the amazing grace of God when Peter first encountered Jesus after the resurrection. Imagine what Peter must have felt. God’s grace is truly amazing. Even when we deny him, he still loves us – all of us.
Thank you Candy and all the staff for a wonderful afternoon. We laughed and felt loved.
Blessings to you and yours,
