A seaside style fish shack near downtown Plano. Hard to imagine, but there it is on 15th Street just east of Central Expressway (75), and it is appropriately called Fish Shack.
The little blue shack – which I am sure was once a fast food establishment – serves good seafood at reasonable prices.
Dear friends Betty and Bob recently introduced us to this little eatery. We like it. We love it.
This was our second time to dine at Fish Shack, and both times it has been crowded and noisy. When we arrived, we felt lucky. Only 6 people were in line in front of us, but by the time we sat down, the line was out the door. I think this was on a Sunday afternoon around 5:00. The long lines give you a hint at this restaurant’s popularity.
The gumbo ($4.95 – bowl) was yummy! (I wish it had been a tad spicier.)
The fried catfish and fries ($9.95) were ordered by Betty and Bob. They declared them delicious.
The shrimp basket ($8.95) had six large tasty shrimp and fries. Would order again.
Let me tell you what I want to order next time. After I had ordered my food, I noticed a lady with grilled fish and vegetables. Sweet Mother of Pearl! It looked so good. She mentioned they would grill any fish item and add the grilled veggies. Considering she worked at Fish Shack, she should know what is good. I also hear they have killer fish tacos.
Blessings to you and yours,
Thank you for reading Lanabird.
Love you,
Fish Shack has no idea who I am. Just sharing.
