In-N-Out’s Not So Secret Menu

This blog started at the end of the Rose Parade.  Ever-Lovin’ heard one of the commentators remark that before going to the Rose Bowl game, she was going to get an In-N-Out Burger.  That did it for him.  Ever-Lovin’ had his taster set for an In-N-Out Burger.

These burgers are good, and they are made with fresh never frozen ingredients that are produced as locally as possible.  Yes, he had an hankerin’ for an In-N-Out Burger – so much so that he was willing to drive to Plano to get one.

While on our way to Plano, we began discussing the “secret menu”.  This menu really isn’t so secret, but it is not listed on the menu board.  Just look on the internet, and you can find many variations of In-N-Out burgers to order.  (The A Hamburger Today blog is a good source of information.)  If you are a meat lover, ask for a 3X3 or a 4X4.  That would be three or four patties of meat and slices of cheese.

Our favorite “secret” is the grilled onions.  See them on this burger.  Yummy!  You can ask for the onions to be grilled for any burger.  I like them.  I love them.  The grilling of the onions in the juices of the meat patty makes any burger better.

I had read that you can get your meat patty “mustard grilled.”  While grilling your patty, they squeeze mustard on it and cook the mustard into the patty.  It ups the taste of the burger.  Honestly, this burger was almost an “Animal Style Burger” because it had the mustard grilled patty, and grilled onions.  I did not ask for extra sauce or extra pickles which are standard on the “Animal Style” burgers.  As a Texan who loves mustard burgers, I thought this was a fantastic “secret menu item” to remember.

In-N-Out is not known for their fries.  In my opinion if you order their fries “regular”, you will be so disappointed.  They are almost white and limp. No amount of ketchup can help them.  What you do is ask for “crispy fries”.  Sweet Mother of Pearl, I promise you will be happier.  Some time back I was with a friend at In-N-Out, and she didn’t know to order “crispy fries.”  When we got our order, she could not understand why my fries were good, and her fries were – well, not good.  So she ate my fries.  Luckily one order of fries is enough to share.

Other changes are no meat, no bread, a grilled cheese, extra veggies, and almost anything else you can dream.  Here are our recommendations:  grilled onions, crispy fries, and mustard grilled meat patties.

In-N-Out does not know me.  I’m just sharing.

Blessings to you and yours,
