Byers’ Choice Ltd.

Byers’ Choice Ltd. are the people who make carolers.  The carolers are handmade in Pennsylvania and bring to mind a New England style Christmas of long ago.  They are dressed in plaids, and have open mouths singing praises.  They fascinate me, and I love to collect them.  Mother had a collection of the carolers, and Super Sister and I shared them.  I remember taking Daddy to the store probably on Christmas Eve to buy Mother’s Christmas gift. A Byers’ caroler was an easy choice, and Mother was sure to be pleased.

My friend The Queen of Everything has a caroler to represent each member of her family.  That is such a neat idea.

My collection is more eclectic.  I have some from Mother, and then I have bought what I like.

These are two of my favorites.  The gardener on the left is from the Dallas Arboretum.  Love the wreath and the watering can.  The school teacher with the chalkboard was Mother’s.  Mother taught school for forty-eight years, so of course, she needed a teacher caroler.

Okay, I said the gardener and the school teacher were my favorites, but I might want to change my mind.  The white Santa in a sleigh with a reindeer is beyond wonderful.  I really, really love him.

Look at the detail in his face.  It is beyond wonderful – oh, I already said that, but it is true.

Scrooge in his nightshirt is good looking, and the lady with a lace trimmed bonnet and fur muff is so elegant.

Queen of Everything has a caroler from “The Cries of London” series.  This little lad with his basket of candlesticks is special.  He does look like he belongs in England.  I am amazed at the clothes and accessories for each caroler.  Very creative.

Queen of Everything had carolers with sandwich boards.  I had never seen them, and set about to try to find one.

It did not take me long to find one.  That very day I checked for Byers’ carolers on Ebay, and would you believe? –  There was a caroler with a sandwich board for Mrs. Bumbies Plum Pudding.  He came today, and I do love him.  Note to self:  I think you can get some good deals on the Byers’ carolers on Ebay.

Then, another find I love?  Red Santa was found at the antique mall for a very good price.  Note to self:  Shop the antique malls for carolers.  (Next 100 times I go, I doubt I will find one.  That is the way life is.)

The Byers’ Choice carolers can be pricy, but if you are in the market for carolers, do check the secondary markets.

Everytime I look at a carolers, I imagine them singing praises to God.

Blessings to you and yours,

Byers’ Choice does not know who I am.  Just sharing.
