A look back- Mothers and Others 2011
On the Saturday before Mother’s Day, Super Sister’s church has a Mothers and Others Luncheon. About 30 women from the church decorate individual tables. The creativity is astounding. I always want to go early because it is so much fun to be around when they are decorating the tables. I am looking forward to going again this year, and will be sure to write about it. As a preview of coming events, I thought you might like to see Super Sister and her friend Jan’s table from last year.
Love, love, love this table. There is so much detail. Begin with the custom made tablecloth-a brown background with lime green, pink, blue and orange floral print. Then they topped the tablecloth with a lime green rug to resemble grass. Too cute! This rug really popped and made for a fun and playful table. Flowers, greenery and birdhouses from Hobby Lobby finished the centerpiece.
To continue the nature theme, brown rattan chargers (I think she got them at Walmart) were topped with fern leaves and then covered with glass plates. Wonderful idea! See the little birds sitting on the side of each charger. They are so cute! We got to bring them home
Everyone loved these handmade flower pins. Super Sister took, lace, burlap, pattern paper, ribbon, cloth and vintage buttons to fashion the flowers. Good looking, and the best part about it was – they were our favors.
Jan even made the napkins out of coordinating fabrics.
Custom chair back covers finished the look. So much love and work went into this table, and we had so much fun.
The entire day was a blessing. The beautifully decorated tables, the delicious food, the beautiful music, and the inspirational message made it a day to remember. Looking forward to this year’s luncheon.
Blessings to you and yours,
