Rise No.1

Getting to dine at Rise No.1 (They spell the name of the restaurant with a lower case “r” in case you are wondering.)  is a treat.  For some time, this restaurant has been at the top of my “Want to Go Back” list.

Yea!  Recently, Friend BB, MarshaChristmas, Shirley, and myself enjoyed lunch at Rise.  This restaurant is unique, and it is famous for soufflés.

As many of you know, I have a “thing” for doors.  The rustic hoe door pull is wonderful.

French flower pots are used as shades for the lights.  The detail is impressive.

Inside the restaurant it is dark, but the fairy lights remind me of the lights along the Champs-Elysees.

One of my favorite features in the small restaurant is the bottle tree chandelier.  I like it.  I love it.

The country French decor is charming.  The French tea towels that they sell have such a good look and feel.

The towels are also used for napkins.  What a nice touch.

The bread board with attached knife is charming, and the crusty baguettes are delicious.

This is reason number one I have been wanting to return to Rise – the “Marshmallow Soup”.  Oh, those aren’t really marshmallows.  They are tiny goat cheese soufflés floating in a tomato carrot bisque.  On top is a drizzle of pesto.  Sweet Mother of Pearl.  It is food of my dreams.

Now, this is part of my problem when dining at Rise.  I love the Marshmallow Soup, and I love both the savory and the dessert soufflés.  That is a considerable amount of food.  Our solution was to share.  Friend BB and Shirley got a cauliflower soufflé, and it was delicious.

MarshaChristmas and I got a crab soufflé.

Yummy!  It was like eating a light and delicious crab cake.

Dessert choices included an apricot soufflé.

We also got the chocolate soufflé.  It was very good, with the rich chocolate sauce drizzled into the middle.  I do like the bread pudding soufflé also.

Interesting story.  President George W. Bush was eating soufflé at Rise  when he received the call from President Obama that Osama bin Laden had been killed.  What a claim to fame for this restaurant.
