Children grow up way too fast. Hot Rod had his last orchestra concert of the year, and it is unbelievable what these children have learned in one year. They can actually play different notes and rhythms than other sections of the orchestra. And they play their pieces very well I might add.
The orchestra consists of sixth grade students that are in the Pearce High School attendance area. With several schools combined, there is a large group of students in this orchestra ..
There is our Hot Rod playing his cello. He is so cute!
This was so cool! The orchestra played The Snake Charmer as one of their selections. Hot Rod had also learned this piece on the guitar. The orchestra teacher asked him to play the guitar. He was excited about getting to play his guitar with the orchestra.
The last two pieces of the concert were selections the students had played at the Sandy Lake Contest. Wow! You could really observe the progress these students have made in one short year. All three judges awarded this sixth grade orchestra with the highest ratings. (They received three ones which equals to superior.)
I know you think I am showing you a bazillion pictures of the same thing, but if you look closely, you will notice that they are plucking the strings. I like it when they pluck the strings.
We enjoyed seeing Hot Rod play in the orchestra. It was great when he got to play his guitar. We are proud of him.
Blessings to you and yours,
