Little House on the Fairway

Judy and Gary downsized to a darling house on a fairway.  It really is not little – Ever-Lovin’ thought of the title for this blog.  Humor him.

Just look at this view from their back patio.  Sweet Mother of Pearl.  I do love, love, love the iron fence.

Judy and Gary did so much to update and change this house.  For starters they tore down a wall between the kitchen and the dining room.  I can only imagine how closed in the rooms would have been with that wall.  Then they remodeled the kitchen, changed the flooring in the kitchen and dining room, added granite countertops and painted everything.  I know they did more, but….  Just know.  They did a lot.

This is the area where they removed the wall.  Big difference.

Their home is filled with family mementoes like these 100 year old aprons.

Plates and platters are also family treasures.

Love the blue and white plates.  The Mother plate was from our dear friend Anne’s estate sale.

Judy has two pantries, (I am jealous.) and she uses this one to showcase her blue glassware.

This is the new flooring in the kitchen and dining room.  It is tiles – not wood -, and Judy loves it.  She says it is easy to clean, and she wants to put it in her den soon.  So pretty.

Be still my heart.  The shoe tree holds all their baby shoes.  What a cute idea.  Judy and her daughters carried the white New Testament in their weddings.

See this precious picture.  That is Judy in front.

It is amazing.  Judy still has that crocheted dress.  What a keepsake.

The beautiful quilt is a flower garden pattern.  The bed cover is a tablecloth.

These are Gary’s family pictures.  How wonderful to have so many family keepsakes displayed.

Gary received many honors during his distinguished career.  I have never seen a poster for an invitation.  Gary is one smart guy.

The den is beyond the dining room, and has large windows that overlook the fairway.

I could live out here.  The patio wraps around the house.  I like it.  I love it.

I have always admired Judy.  For years she has had arthritis, but she has not complained or let it stop her from doing what she loves to do.  She is an excellent cook and seamstress.  The Living Stones Bible Fellowship class sends Christmas stocking to an area in the Valley called The Dump.  These people literally live around a dump site.  The Christmas stockings are the only presents these children get for Christmas.

Ladies from the church cut out the stockings.

Judy then stitches the stockings on her trusty surger.  She has stitched a bazillion (over 300 so far this year) of these stockings.   Small toys, school supplies, and clothing are sent to fill the stockings.

It really did not take her long to make this.  I was impressed.  Judy’s sweet spirit and dedication is amazing.  She is a blessing to all of us.

Blessings to you and yours,

One thing that makes me happy is that another class in the church noticed the Living Stones’ mission projects, and they asked to join our efforts.  They cut out stockings, collected items to fill the stockings, and even helped with food for The Well this month.  Wow!  Isn’t that wonderful.  We are appreciative and love that others are sharing in our blessings.

Thank you Gary and Judy for letting us tour your new home.
