As a thank you gesture for hosting the retirement reception, Candy invited the Living Stones to dinner. How nice is that? The cooks, the decorators, the kitchen managers, and the servers all gathered at Taco Joint for a good time.
Before we arrived, Candy had prepared for the party with balloons decorating the tables.
Having the party at Taco Joint was fantastic. Each person could order what they wanted, and the restaurant arranged for us to have the large back room to ourselves. Chips, hot sauce, and queso were waiting for us as we arrived. It is always good to be able to start the party on arrival.
I was interested in Carol P.”s order. She got the Taco Soup with a Taco. She said it was delicious. Maybe I with change from my usual order of a quesadilla to the Taco Soup on my next visit. It looked yummy, and I do love taco soup.
This is the gang, minus Friend BB and Joyce. I am so sorry I didn’t get them in the picture.
We were so pleased that Candy was pleased with the reception. Her words touched us.
The Living Stones wanted to give Candy a token of our love and appreciation.
This is a prayer pillow. On the back of the pillow is a pocket. Each member of the class shared a favorite verse, or prayer for Candy as she transitions into retirement.
Excellent Cook Nancy (our fantastic director) typed each of these cards to be put in the pocket on the back of the pillow.
What is a party without a cake, and Candy bought this delicious cake from Society Bakery. Almost every Sunday she would exclaim that the “Stones Rock!” (One year for our class picture we donned instruments and wigs like rock stars. Since that time, Candy has said tha the “Stones Rock!”)
We so enjoyed the celebration. Thank you Candy. What a blessing to share good food and fellowship with friends.
Blessings to you and yours,
