Each year I can get bawl-eyed when I put out Christmas decorations. Here are just a few of my favorite Christmas things. Oh, there are many more, but….
This year I put an arrangement on the bench in our “entry”. I do not think I have ever decorated this space before, and I think I like it.
A red metal crate is filled with greenery, a favorite Santa, and mercury glass ornaments. A little Christmas tree also occupies space on the bench.
Ever-Lovin’ and Number Three Son hung garland from the beams again this year. It is no easy task, and I do appreciate that they did this.
Our tree isn’t fancy, but it is filled with Christmas memories.
Dear friend Mary who passed away this year made lace snowflakes for us each year. They are so special. Betty Ann gave us this ornament of Bethlehem, and I cherish it. I also love crystal ice cycles, and I buy them when I can find them.
The blown glass cowboy was bought many moons ago. I could go on and on forever telling about all the ornaments on the tree, because they are all special, but I will move on.
My mother liked pinecone ornaments, and I do too. (I am missing some of my pinecones – bummer!)
Super Sister has given me these Christmas Fairies. They are so cute!
Friend Marge gave me this N-o-e-l a long time ago, and I always fondly remember the good times we enjoyed while teaching together at Wallace. She continues to be a dear friend.
I do love antique Christmas plates. This is a plate of the Court House, Osborne, Kansas that was given by H.E. Nielson. Around the turn of the century, it was popular for stores to give these plates to customers. (I am missing my favorite, but I know it is somewhere.)
This little Christmas pudding box holds a ha’penny. I just love it. “If you haven’t got a ha’penny, God bless you.”
Blessings to you and yours,
This truly is just a few of my favorite Christmas things.
