The decor at the Richardson Women’s Club is classic and beautiful. Their brochure describes the home as “a country estate for meetings and celebrations”.
The clubhouse was built in the 1930’s as a private country home. It has been renovated and expanded several times. In 1969, the City of Richardson obtained the property when they purchased the land for the Sherrill Park Golf Course. The City of Richardson then dedicated the country home to the women of Richardson, and The Richardson Women’s Club was named as agents for the furnishings, care, and upkeep of the home. In recent years, Founder’s Hall plus other outdoor venues (an arbor and a gazebo) have been added.
The Living Stones Christmas Party was held in this lovely clubhouse. The paneled walls, beamed ceilings, and wooden floors give the feeling of a charming country estate. The traditional Christmas decor of green, red and gold looked beautiful in this setting.
Be still my heart! I love this pretty red with gold print bow that topped the Christmas tree.
The stone fireplace with the rustic wooden mantle is so welcoming. The mantle was decorated with garland and lanterns. I love that wrapped “presents” were under the tree and by the fireplace.
The tablescape on the coffee table compliments the red chairs.
I think they added the greenery and poinsettia wreath to this table. Easy and very pretty.
Another side table had gold Christmas trees surrounded by greenery and red berries.
Window sills were lined with garland and Christmas wreaths hung in the windows. (FYI: In the distance you can see the well that is original to this property.)
The decorations were simple and elegant. Somebody in the Richardson Women’s Club can make majorly gorgeous bows.
Another wreath with a red bird circled three brass candlesticks.
The piano was topped with greenery, red flowers, and a gold bow. The little gold deer added interest to this arrangement.
The birdcage was filled with various shades and sizes of gold Christmas ornaments. The redbird on the gold bow really makes this vignette pop. The red bow on the lampshade also is a nice touch.
Through the hard work of the women of the Richardson Women’s Club many charitable grants and scholarships have been awarded in our community. It is a good thing!
The Living Stones enjoyed a wonderful evening in this lovely setting. It is hard to believe that this “country estate” is in our fair city.
Blessings to you and yours,
Thank you Tonna for planning our party at the Richardson Women’s Club. It was a party to remember.
