Chocolate – I like it. I love it.
Did you know that there is evidence that chocolate beverages were enjoyed by the Mokaya as early as 1900 BC? Mokaya were pre-Olmec cultures of the Soconusco region in Mexico and parts of the Pacific coast of western Guatemala, an archaeological culture that developed a number of Mesoamerica’s earliest-known sedentary settlements. (Wikipedia) That was a long time ago!
Well, the evolution of chocolate has come to Trinity Groves. Kate Weiser Chocolate creates high-end jewel like chocolate creations.
The chocolates are beautiful and have a very modern look.
It takes four days to make these beautiful chocolates. Watching the chocolates being made in the open kitchen is very interesting.
Sweet Mother of Pearl! The selection of thirty-five flavors is most unusual – Strawberry Basil, Ninja Turtle, Buttery Popcorn just to name a few. Oh, there are also more traditional flavors, but the selection is very creative. These chocolates are “dressed” to impress. What an elegant gift these would be.
Chocolates are not the only confections offered at Kate Weiser Chocolate. Macarons are one of my favorite treats, MarshaChristmas treated us with a Mojito Macaron (on the left), and it was fantastically delicious! Seriously, I am plotting to go back to Trinity Groves to get another Mojito Macaron.
But, on this hot summer day we opted to try the ice cream. Carolyn and MarshaChristmas got this Sweet Basil Ice Cream with balsamic and Texas Peaches. Delish! The winner.
I got the Ascension Coffee Ice Cream with crushed biscotti and expresso beans. It was very good, but not as refreshing as the Sweet Basil Ice Cream with Texas Peaches. Maybe in the fall the Ascension Coffee would be a good choice.
This was another winner. MarshaChristmas ordered the French Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich with Salted Pistachio Ice Cream bada bing cherries, fleur de sel. They only had one macaron to make the ice cream sandwich, and as anyone knows it takes two macarons to make a French Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich, so… The gave her a half of a French Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich, and then let her choose a dish of ice cream. Very nice! This was crunchy, chewy, and full of flavor – salted pistachio and bada bing cherries. Oh, yes. It makes me hungry just to look at this picture. I hope they have this on the menu the next time I visit Kate Weiser Chocolate.
Blessings to you and yours,
