Meddlesome Moth – I had heard about it. The name intrigued me – Meddlesome Moth. I had seen the restaurant listed on suggested places to eat in Dallas, but I really did not know much about this Dallas’ Trinity Design District restaurant. When MarshaChristmas suggested lunch at the Meddlesome Moth I jumped at the opportunity.
Anytime I travel into Dallas to dine, I feel as if I am entering another world – a world different than our world in the burbs. It is like going on vacation.
The unique decor of Meddlesome Moth certainly sets this gastropub apart from the crowds. “The Trinity” (Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, and Elvis) stained glass windows from the original Dallas Hard Rock Cafe dominate the back wall. Wow!
Ann Sacks Tile Showroom was the former tenant at this location, and tile samples on the floors and stairs add to the eclectic decor. Now I know where people go to get high-end tile.
Our waitress was super nice. We liked her.
The menu was most interesting, and we each got something different.
When we arrived, Gail had ordered the humus. Oh,my. It was delicious, and it is highly recommended.
Marsha had done her homework, and she ordered the Thai Mussels. Why go to a new restaurant and not experience something new was her attitude. I like how adventuresome she is. Marsha thought the mussels would be spicy, but they were not.
Gail loved her Webster City Bacon BLT. In addition to the delicious bacon on this BLT, she raved about the addition of heirloom tomatoes.
A good choice at a pub is Cod and Chips with Mushy Peas no less. Evelyn was not disappointed.
My Shrimp and Grits were good, but I will probably order something different the next time. I am going to be more like Marsha and be more adventuresome. A lady in the restroom raved that the Chicken Salad Sandwich was the best she had ever eaten. (Not adventuresome, but just thought I would share.)
For a sweet touch to end the meal, we ordered the Peach and Blueberry Cobbler. Excellent choice. Yummy!
As we were leaving, we were encouraged to walk around and tour the restaurant.
The bar area is a sight to behold. The extensive beer offerings are not the beers you see advertised on TV. The bar’s backsplash is made of $1,250 worth of quarters. (That would be 5000 quarters – I did the math.) Very interesting.
The kitchen is open, and they were super busy. Glad we had reservations.
What an enjoyable meal we had, and as always, it is so good to be with dear friends.
Blessings to you and yours,
Thank you MarshaChristmas! You always know the best places to go and the best things to do.
