Isabelly’s Chocolates and Sweets!  Sounds like my kind of place.  It is a little sweet shop that you may have missed because it is located in downtown Richardson (If there is such a thing.) at 200 E. Main (Beltline) at McKinney Street. (southeast corner)

Sometime ago I noticed the Isabelly’s Chocolate and Sweets signs on the windows, and eagerly looked forward to when the chocolate shop would open.  Finally, last week there was an OPEN sign flashing in the window, and into the little shop I did go.

As I walked in the cute shop, I noticed a case of cake balls.  Oh, I was somewhat disappointed because usually cake balls are not my favorite treats.  So many times they are gummy and too mushy. (Just my opinion.)  I had to admit that these cake balls were very attractive, and…

Sweet Mother of Pearl!  I love Isabelly’s cake balls.  They are absolutely divine.

Choices include white chocolate dipped, chocolate dipped, custom shapes, and holiday shapes. (The Christmas tree Cake Truffles are adorable.)

Isabelly’s calls their cake balls Gourmet Cake Truffles, and I think that is an accurate description.  Sounds elegant doesn’t it?

In this little box are their prize winning offerings.  The Mexican Chocolate Cake Truffle was fantastic.  I am dreaming of this decadent chocolate treat.  Honestly!  The Strawberry Cake Truffle was also delicious and so cute.  That piece of dark chocolate covered with little red hearts is their *Signature Squares* – Creme de Cassis.  Be still my heart.  It is majorly wonderful.

Another case was filled with chocolates and caramels.

We selected some chocolates to take home – truffles, brittle, and dark chocolate.  Yummy!  It is hard to believe that this little gem of a shop is in “downtown” Richardson.  Dallas Caramel Company supplies their caramels.

Isabelly’s has been in business for four years and opened this Boutique storefront three months ago.  Many flavors of their Cake and Brownie Truffles are offered.  The shaped Cake Truffles would make any occasion special.   On their Facebook page, I noticed the Dallas by Chocolate (a tasting tour of chocolate delights) recently stopped by for samples.

Red boxes are available for gifting and even shipping.

The Boutique is also a coffee and tea shop.  Eiland Coffee and Sterling Tea are available as well as Italian sodas.  There are a few tables inside the boutique for your pleasure.  Silver trays on the wall proclaim their 2012 Gourmet Gold Awards from Market Hall for Best Chocolate/Candy (Mexican Chocolate Cake Truffle) and Best Dessert (Strawberry Cake Truffle).  I understand why they won!

The Gourmet Cake Truffles will look fantastic on a sweets tray at a tea party.  I think they are sure to dazzle guests.  Gourmet Cake Truffles are elegant and delicious.  I am ready to have a tea party!
