Nothing earth shattering here. Probably most of you know about and have visited Joe T. Garcia’s Mexican restaurant in Fort Worth. But, on our recent day trip to Cowtown (to see the Indiana Jones Archeology Exhibition), we took advantage of the opportunity to visit this legendary restaurant. We enjoyed it so much – we thought it blog worthy.
Since 1935, Joe T. Garcia’s has been serving their famous enchiladas and other Tex-Mex favorites to long lines of devoted customers. Many moons ago Number One Son tried to take his sweet wife Mikel to Joe T.’s, but the line was way long. Long story short – they decided not to wait, and Mikel has been waiting to eat at Joe T. Garcia’s ever since – so we did.
THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT TO KNOW: JOE T. GARCIA’S DOES NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS. (There is an ATM.) They only take cash. Be prepared.
The decor inside the restaurant is charming with the folk art murals.
The tile alcoves are well done. I like them. I love them. You can tell that this restaurant continues to update its decor. That is impressive after all these many years.
The family-style meal includes so much delicious food.
Jenny declared her salad excellent. I think I might order this next time. It has everything I like on it.
Would you believe this serving of beef fajitas? Ever-Lovin’ and I ate some at the restaurant. Then Ever-Lovin’ had some one day for lunch. Then we had another lunch from the leftovers. Delicious and highly recommended!
As we were leaving, I noticed the path.. I just had to check it out.
Be still my heart! It was beyond beautiful. There are several patios in this area. I wish we would have eaten out here. I read on the Joe T. Garcia’s website that they add a patio or dining area each year.
The gardens are beautiful and several of the areas have fountains.
What a wonderful ending to our day trip to Fort Worth. Hope to return to Joe T. Garcia’s in the near future.
Blessings to you and yours,
Isn’t this an unusual caladium?
