Going to new restaurants is fun. It is exciting to try something new that maybe you my dear readers do not know about. I love suggestions of places we should try. BUT … Sometimes I forget to sing the praise of our tried and true restaurants. The restaurants we continue going back to time and time again. Recently I was reminded that not everyone knows about our “favorites”.
Just the other day I mentioned Cafe de France to a friend, and she had no idea what I was talking about. Sweet Mother of Pearl. I could not believe it, so this blog is for those of you who have never visited Cafe de France.
We first began going to Cafe de France when it was located in Plano on Central Expressway. At that time it was a bakery and served soups, salads and sandwiches at lunch and entree’s at dinner. Now it is located at 17370 Preston Road, Dallas Texas. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. One thing I have always admired is that the Giliani family is very hands-on in how they run the restaurant. They are there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. When do they sleep?
Cafe de France is a favorite of our After Church Gang. Those that want breakfast can order breakfast, and others can order lunch. Cafe de France bills itself as an American-French restaurant. The atmosphere is calm and you can hear your friends talk. (A big plus in my book.)
Recently a large room was added. It can be used for private parties and business meetings.
There are always specials to be had at Cafe de France. We enjoy having a VIP Dining Card that gives us a 20% discount on all our meals. (I believe you could have one also if you just ask.)
There is a breakfast special for just $5.99. I think this is just during the week, but I might be wrong.
There are Happy Hour specials and an Early Bird 3 Course Meal special. On Sunday’s they have a Sunday Brunch special. Bottom line is that you get delicious food for a fair price.
On this day, we ordered breakfast. Ever-Lovin’ ordered the Western Omelet. Just look at the fluffy the eggs, and the omelet is filled with good stuff. His omelet came with fruit or potatoes and toast.
One of my favorites things to order at Cafe de France is their Banana Nut Pancakes. They are delicious because they are filled with slices of banana and nuts. Yummy!
The pancakes are served with choices of meats and potatoes. Fruit is also an option. I should have ordered the fruit.
Everything I have eaten at Cafe de France has been delicious.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to dine at Cafe de France, I encourage you to go. You will have an enjoyable meal with good food and a pleasant atmosphere. Oh, and the staff is great also!
Blessings to you and yours,
