As a preschooler in Sunbeams my favorite Bible verse was Psalm 122:1 – I was glad when they said unto me. Let us go into the house of the Lord. Honestly, this verse is one of my earliest memories. I loved and still love being in the house of the Lord.
Sure this verse is true on days we gather to worship, but it also applies to the days we fellowship together.
Each year the Junior High students at First Baptist Church Richardson have a Pancake Breakfast to earn money for their summer camp and their mission trip. What I appreciate most about this day is getting to visit with fellow church members. This day is a win/win situation. The youth raise money for their camp and their mission trip, and we get to eat a delicious breakfast with our friends.
This is one large griddle! With a griddle this big, these men are able to do a great job of keeping the pancakes supplied to the serving line.
Members of the junior high choir help serve. They are so cute and polite. Plenty of parents are available for support.
This year they also offered grilled kilbase sausage as well as breakfast sausage patties. Just look at the beautiful light and fluffy pancakes. Yummy!
I loved seeing grandparents with their grandchildren. It is a perfect day for all generations.
Pancakes have international appeal also.
Talk about having all generations. Gene was showing off his great-granddaughter. Precious.
Dear friends met and enjoyed their time together.
It was wonderful seeing and visiting with these dear ladies.
These two sisters are remarkable. One is an actress and the other is an artist. I loved hearing their stories.
The kids were great workers. They will represent our church well.
Some people were even lucky enough to be in town for the gathering. Martha is so much fun. It is always good to see her.
For these ladies, it was time for a well deserved rest.
A great time was had by all.
Andy always has a humongous smile on his face. He was letting us know that the line would soon be closing, and if we wanted more to eat, we had better get in line. Several scrambled for one last bite. Pancakes that good are hard to resist.
More great smiles.
Everybody was happy.
Wonderful fellowship and delicious food – Life is good.
Blessings to you and yours,
