Pretty Baby’s Room

Pretty Baby has a bright and cheerful room.  Momma Jenny and Aunt Becky worked hard to make her a room that is girly but not too frilly.  This room combines modern and nostalgia touches.  I like it. I love it.

Walls were painted a bright green called Peas in a Pod.  It is by Behr, and they got it at Home Depot.  Jenny mentioned that she smiles every time she walks into this room. How wonderful!   A vine was painted around the room giving it a cheery springtime feel .

Butterflies flutter around the vines.  Glitter was added for a little glitz.  Butterflies symbolize so many things – beauty, change, and freedom just to name a few.   I can’t help but think of Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle and hope that she and her father will share Butterfly Kisses.

A Hobby Lobby flower canvas seems to fit perfectly in the room.  Sweet Mother of Pearl, I always love a little glam from sparkly glitter.

Sentimental Number Two Son (Pretty Baby’s father) wanted to add nostalgic elements to the nursery.  Many moons ago, his nursery had a Winnie the Pooh theme.  “Where shall we wonder today?” from HomeGoods seemed like a wonderful addition for the nursery.  (I think that every morning, and hope to w0nder many places with Pretty Baby.)

Another Winnie the Pooh print was found at a thrift shop.  Classics never go out of style.

Another holdover from Number Two’s childhood room is a Thumper drawing.  As  I remember it, a real-live (as opposed to a real-dead) Disney animator came to Dillard’s at Valley View Mall.  For most of a morning we stood in line for drawings.  The boys could request any Disney character to be illustrated.  He sketched the pictures so quickly and effortlessly.  Thumper and Mary Poppins (Number Three Son’s choice) were the drawings asked for on that day.  Both of these drawings hang in Pretty Baby’s nursery.  Isn’t that special!

This picture of Pretty Baby makes me laugh.  She doesn’t appear too excited about her room at this time, but just you wait – so much love went into creating it, and I know she is going to love it.  Isn’t Momma Jenny pretty!

Blessings to you and yours,
