Tea at the Crescent Court – What an experience! I liked it. I loved it. And, I took pictures to share.
As a hostess gift, Stephanie and Evelyn invited the hostesses to tea at the Crescent Court. (Stephanie’s aunts and her Matron of Honor were also there.) How impressive is that?
Nancy, Sheila, Janet, Wynette, and I made the journey to downtown or rather uptown Dallas. (Poor Pat could not come, and we missed her terribly.) Just standing in front of the massive doors was exciting.
Be still my heart. Pumpkin trees decorated the lobby.
Small pumpkins were tied together into chains and hung on the trees.
There were also roses hanging in vases – so pretty.
Sweet Mother of Pearl. These dozens and dozens of roses around the trees were beyond beautiful. Just perfect.
This is the lobby. Loved the blue accents. Everything appeared to be so restful.
As Hot Rod says, “I could get use to this.” The outside lanterns got my attention.
Then we found out we were in the wrong building.
Yes! Evelyn told us where to go, but we did not follow directions. Oh, well. We had a grand tour of the Crescent Hotel lobby, and I am glad we did.
Outside we looked up to our destination on the seventeenth floor.
At every turn, artwork filled the walls. Beautiful. The walls were glazed bronze gold, and they were gorgeous.
The table was set with chargers. The chargers were removed when the tea began. I liked that they set the chargers as place holders – I have done that.
Be still my heart. I do love the view of Dallas from the seventeenth floor.
Tea Time – The tea was traditional in the sense that it was served in three courses, but it had a modern twist.
The first course was the savories. The narrow rectangle plates topped with a long banana(???) leaf showcased the five little open-face sandwiches.
From left to right – 1.)Toasted Bread Crouton topped with Avocado Puree and Tomato Preserves, 2.)Grilled Cheese Toast with Prosciutto, 3.) Cucumber Puree on Marbled Bread, 4.) Chicken Salad Tart (very spicy), and 5.)Humus on Flat Bread. The presentation was impressive, and the savories were delicious. (The chicken salad was too spicy for me, but Excellent Cook Nancy loved it.)
The second course was Cream Scones with Cream and Berry Preserves. Yummy!
The third course was the sweets. (And, how sweet they were!) From left to right – 1.)Fruit Tart, 2.) Macaron, 3.)Chocolate Torte, 4.)Pecan Tart in a Chocolate Crust, and 5.)Cheesecake. All of these were beautiful and tasty. I liked them. I loved them.
We were treated royally and so enjoyed our tea. It was an afternoon that will not be forgotten.
Blessings to you and yours,
Thank you Stephanie and Evelyn.
