I know I saw this recipe on another blog. I didn’t imagine it. BUT I can not find it. I have searched. Believe me I have searched and searched. Gremlins – that is the answer. So if this was your idea, let me know, and I will gladly give you credit and link to your blog.
I call these – Triple Threat Brownies because they are made from chocolate chip cookie dough, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and a brownie mix. What is not to like? Sweet Mother of Pearl! Just imagine combining all three chocolate favorites for a sinfully rich brownie. How good is that?
I had to try them, so I devised a plan, made a grocery list, and went to the store.
The recipe I am about to give you is different than the recipe on the elusive blog – considering that I could not find the original recipe.
Ingredients I used:
1 16 1/2 ounce package Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough – the kind that will make 24 cookies. (Elusive blogger made her own chocolate chip cookie dough) (No picture.)
Twenty Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups – that would be 10 double packages (Elusive blogger used fifteen peanut butter cups.)
1 Brownie Mix – Mixed according to the directions on the box. Your favorite mix will do. I used what was in the cupboard. (Elusive blogger did use a brownie mix.)
Preheat oven to 350F
Spray 9X13 inch cake pan with baking spray
Press cookie dough into pan. Spreading with fingers. I used some flour on my hands to keep the dough from sticking.
Bake cookie dough for about 6 minutes.
When you take the partially baked cookie dough out of the oven, place the unwrapped peanut butter cups on top of the crust.
Then pour the mixed brownie mix over the top of the crust and the peanut butter cups.
Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 25-30 minutes.
Let cool before slicing.
Yes, this is a bazillion calories. Yes, this is beyond rich. Yes, this is delicious. And yes, it is so easy to make .
Hot Rod thinks it is the best thing I have ever made.
Ever-Lovin’ is not even a chocolate person, and he really liked (and has eaten) it. In fact, I was trying to stage a picture, and before I knew it – I caught him eating the Triple Threat Brownie off the plate. He just couldn’t wait. See that smile on his face. He was caught “with his hand in the cookie jar.”
Mrs. Ralph and Friend BB gave their stamp of approval, and even asked for some to take home. Yea! I do believe this recipe is a winner.
Blessings to you and yours,
This recipe for the Triple Threat Brownies would be a very good recipe to make when you would like to have a lot of small treats on a tray. It sliced nicely, and people do not need a large piece since it is so rich.
Enjoy!
