Hot Rod attended Theater Camp at Pearce High School this week and was part of the production of Honk. Basically, Honk is a musical version of the Ugly Duckling. The children had five days of Theater Camp, and then it was show time. What they accomplished in five days was amazing.
The pictures are not good. I know they are not good. They were taken in a dark auditorium. Still… I want to show and tell. (Just a little bit proud. Okay, I am beyond proud.)
The villain of the story is Cat – that would be Hot Rod. He was so excited to play his first villain part, and he thinks he has found his calling. Hot Rod a villain? I don’t think so. But he was. (Although, Cat was a cute funny villain.)
Hot rod even wore a mike – “Just like the ones on Broadway.”
While others ridiculed the strange “duckling”, Cat offered to be her “friend”.
He sang.
He danced.
He entertained.
The entire cast did an excellent job.
After the show, congratulations were in order. Mikel deserves to be a proud mamma.
Hot Rod couldn’t resist hamming it up for the camera with an “in character” pose. Loved it!
Blessings to you and yours,
Thank you staff of the Pearce Theater Camp. What you accomplished with these students in five days was beyond fabulous.
