Hot Rod’s Recital – Guitar and Now Piano Also

One good thing about Hot Rod’s music academy is that they have plenty of recitals.  I really do like that.

This recital was different.  It was at the High Street Antique Mall in Plano.  Inside the mall is the Chocolate Angel Tea Room, and they had a little corner of the tea room set aside for the recital.  It was a pretty setting, and the mall customers could also be entertained.  Cool!  (Only problem.  They could have turned off the mall music.)  We could still hear the students though.

Sweet Mother of Pearl.  Hot Rod is developing a following.  His uncle – Number Three Son – came.  Number Three Son is all for the guitar lessons, and thinks joining the Rock Band group at the academy would be a good idea.  Paige – a dear family friend – also came to the recital.  We have known Paige all her life, and she has been Hot Rod’s choir teacher at First Baptist Church Richardson.  Paige even posted about the recital on Facebook.  Wow!

First, Hot Rod played Ode to Joy on his guitar.  Loved it!  He improves with every recital.

When playing his guitar, he has a “guitar playing face.”  It make me smile.

Recently Hot Rod began piano lessons also.  This was his first recital on the piano.  I had no idea what he could do.

Ready, set, …

Go!  He played Row Row Row Your Boat with his teacher.  It was not that easy.  They played it as a round.  I was beyond impressed.  Truthfully – I would have been confused from the beginning.  Two different parts being played at the same time.  He did great.  For the record, he didn’t consider it that hard.

This young man is turning into a musician, and we are all thrilled

Blessings to you and yours,

Thanks for letting a grandmother share.   Okay, I admit it.  I am bragging on Hot Rod, but…  I can’t help but brag once in a while.  He is doing so well, and we love him so.
