Jim had a milestone birthday. Won’t tell you which one, but suffice it to say – he is older than me. The Queen of Everything planned a surprise birthday party for him, and the inspiration came from this picture.
O-0-0-0-h! A-a-a-a-h! Be still my heart. Is that not the cutest picture? He was one precious Little Buckaroo.
Welcome to the party! On the porch were sunflowers, a darling riding horse, and a lariat wreath.
The entry table held sheet music to the song Little Buckaroo. Sweet Mother of Pearl. I love, love, love the little boots.
In the dining room, the table was set with a red checked tablecloth, leather chargers, cowboy dinnerware, and Mason jars for drinks. Antler candlesticks, small bales of hay, birch candles, and sunflowers filled the table.
Sheriff badges secured the bandana napkins. I love this idea. So cleaver!
Favors that doubled as place cards were tins filled with candy. I think they bought the tins at Michaels and made copies of the Little Buckaroo picture for the inserts. The mints in bandana packaging were scattered around the tables.
There is so much detail in this table setting – Little bales of hay on a burlap runner, iron spurs, and “barbed wire” trim. Love this sign. Makes sense.
Mason jars filled with beans and a bandana held the sunflowers. I am so partial to sunflowers. They always make me happy.
There were two other tables. This was a round table covered with a burlap tablecloth.
All of the tables were gorgeous.
Bandana plates were used on these tables. Looked good!

The kitchen island was filled with old fashioned candies and the birthday cake.
That cute picture even decorated the cake. Notice the detail on this little covered wagon. I like it. I love it.
Barbeque brisket, beans, potato salad, corn, and black-eyed pea salsa with tortillia chips were on the menu. Yummy!
Chicken nuggets were offered for “the kids”.
I think they have almost become Texans.

The best part of the party was that Jim was shocked. His cousins from Mississippi came for the celebration, and his entire family was there. Happy Trails, Jim.
Blessings to you and yours,
You see why I call her The Queen of Everything. She gives the most wonderful parties, and she does everything so well. I am proud to know her.
Zan is part of the family. She is a professional photographer and was so kind to give me her pictures. Thank you! Yes, I am intimidated, but isn’t it wonderful to have the fantastic photos?
