English Ways – There are some things associated with this land across the pond.
The classic red telephone booths – even if everyone has a cell phone, these phone booths are still on the streets.
The tube.
It was really easy to use, and the English people are so friendly and helpful. If they see you looking at the map, they will help. They know the system well.
This is one of my favorite phrases – “Mind the gap.” You see it at the Tube and train stations. There is a gap between the platform and the cars so you need to be sure and “Mind the gap”.
Instead of exit signs the signs say – “Way Out”.
We got to ride in an English taxi when we changed hotels. I did love it.
What was I thinking? I did not get a good picture of the famous double decker buses. At the end of our tour, we started riding the city buses. We could see more of the city if we rode a bus rather than the Tube.
Instead of yielding they “Give Way”.
“Do not alight here.” I get the message.
The steam train we rode looked like Thomas.
There are footpaths rather than sidewalks.
I really like this. A “Learning Room” says so much more than classroom. There are expectations for what will happen in this room.
I did appreciate the signs on the street warning us which way to look.
It is common for their food trucks to be in Air-Stream trailers.
“Dog Loo” – There was a lot of chuckles within the group about this.
Yes, we speak the say language, but the differences intrigue me. I do appreciate how polite the English people were.
Blessings to you and yours,
Have I mentioned – I do want to go back.
Love you,
