Last month Ever-Lovin’ and I missed going to Mercy Street. Yes, we didn’t get to go, and we missed being with the teenagers that come to Mercy Street on Sunday nights for Bible Study.
Mercy Street Mission: MERCY STREET hopes to be used by God to spark Christ-honoring community restoration by engaging in mutually-transforming relationships with the future leaders of West Dallas. And Mercy Street is making a difference in the West Dallas Community.
Grande Nachos were on the menu. Chips, black beans, taco meat, cheese sauce, lettuce, jalapeños, sour cream, guacamole, picante sauce, pico de gallo, corn salsa, and mango salsa were available for the kids to create their own nachos.
This was Ever-Lovin’s muy grande plate of nachos. He does love the mango salsa. The plates were so full of nachos that there wasn’t room to put the watermelon on the plate.
The boys did not come tonight, and I felt a little bad. They were waiting around to leave, and we could tell they wanted nachos. We will make them again when the boys will be able to be there.
We were able to use the cute piñatas from the luncheon at the Well. Picante sauce, guacamole, and sour cream were in the little containers. It is best the have everything prepared before we arrive. We did heat the cheese sauce and taco meat in their kitchen.
What a pretty young lady. She could be a model. Kathy is one of the leaders. I love, love, love, seeing the leaders interact with the students. Mercy Street is about connections.
The noise level in the room was loud – not a bad loud. The girls were just having fun.
Love the laughter and the smiles!
This was the gang from the Living Stones. For dessert Janet and Judy D. made cookies. Yummy!
The Albers Men’s Class is also (thankfully) part of the group.
As we left tonight, Jill asked for prayers for the students. Tonights lesson focused on honoring God by doing their best in school. There are so many challenges for these children. Pray for them.
Blessings to you and yours,
