I was glad when they said unto me. Let us go into the house of the Lord. Psalm 122:1 (My favorite Bible verse when I was a child.)
Today was a wonderful day in the house of the Lord.
Be still my heart. It was amazing to walk into the Living Stones Bible Fellowship class this morning, Palm branches greeted us on our tables. Just seeing the branches filled me with praise. We could not help but wave the branches and think, “Prepare ye the way of the Lord.” What a way to begin Passion Week.
Tonna was our Bible study leader today. She always does such an excellent job of presenting and sharing the gospel. Today she provided the palm branches, some Easter treats and our lesson.
As Tonna led us in Bible Study, we were reminded that the people singing praises to Jesus as he rode into Jerusalem were the same people yelling, “Crucify him” at the end of the week. Sobering thought.
The seder meal was described along with the meaning of Passover. It was interesting.
While discussing the Last Supper, we were reminded that Jesus was eager to spend this time with his disciples. He continued to teach them even in His last days how to be a servant leader. He washed their feet, and served the meal. May we learn from His examples.
If any of you do not have a place to learn and worship, you are invited to join us at First Baptist Church Richardson. On Easter Sunday, the Living Stones Class will worship at 8:00, and we will have Bible Study at 9:15.
Blessings to you and yours,
Thank you Tonna. I do not think any of us will forget this lesson.
After Bible study, we went to worship. The worship service was so meaningful. The music was beautiful and the sermon about the seven ways Jesus demoted himself for our sake reinforced today’s lesson about being servant leaders. It was a good day in the house of the Lord.
