Saturday was a busy, busy day. The morning began with the 31st Annual Pancake Day at First Baptist Church Richardson. Yes, they have been having the Pancake Breakfast at FBC Richardson for thirty-one years, and I think we have been to most of them. What a fun morning to help the Jr. High students raise money for their Mission Trip and Youth Camp. Plus we got to fellowship with one another.
We got there about 9:30. Of course, this was the same time the rest of the world decided to arrive for pancakes. The line was out the door.
This is Alex and friend. Alex sold us pancake tickets. We have known his mother Paige forever and a day. How hard it is to believe that Alex is now a a teenager. Cute boys! They were serving orange juice.
Tyler the music assistant is too cute. This was changing of the assignments time, and he was helping the youth find their proper assignments. I think he looks like Hercules the Archer. (Well, sort of.)
Pancakes. This is why we came. I heard more than one person mention how delicious they were. You could have seconds, or thirds, or …. The man sitting across from us asked for 14 pieces of sausage, and they gave it to him. Teenagers are so literal, but I must say, the sausage did not go to waste.
Pancakes cook on a revolving griddle, and it is a sight to behold. How cool is that?
Music director Andy made everyone feel welcome. He was personally thanking everyone he met for their support of the youth. That meant a lot to me.
Bill always has a smile and a laugh on his face. He makes me smile. The best part of the morning was visiting and fellowshipping with friends.
How precious. This child sat across from us, and she is beyond cute and so sweet. Love her big beautiful eyes, and she loved the pancakes.
As we left, people were still in line (Some were in line again – I am not naming names.), but the line was not as long. All in all we enjoyed good food, good friends, and a good morning. It is wonderful to fellowship together.
Blessings to you and yours,
As I thought about the morning, I looked up verses that might express how I felt. Perhaps Hebrews 13:1 fits.
Hebrews 13:1 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. For many many years, the members of First Baptist Church Richardson have been loving and supporting each other. What a blessing.
