This post is in honor of my friend Betty. She loves the Paris Coffee Shop in Fort Worth. Specifically she thinks they make “the best” chocolate meringue pie she has ever eaten. To her, their chocolate pie is a reason to plan a trip to Fort Worth.
Paris Coffee Shop is the type of restaurant that is often featured in the newspaper. The first time we went was because Betty had seen a writeup In the Dallas Morning News singing the praises of their chicken ‘n dumplings. All who ordered the chicken ‘n dumplings gave it a thumbs up. My chicken fried steak was good but not worth a trip to Fort Worth good.
On my visit to Fort Worth last week, Jorene and I met at the Paris Coffee Shop for breakfast.
The murals on the side of the building are beyond wonderful. I like them. I love them.
I especially love the oil field mural. Almost reminds me of home, except for the mountains in the distance.
I will be the first to admit – I do not believe I knew how to order breakfast at the Paris Coffee Shop. The sausage was tasty, and the eggs were eggs. But, I saw other people order steak or pork chops, and they were really enjoying their breakfast. Also, they knew to order side dishes – potatoes, etc. I can do better next time.
Biscuits were good – real good. Gravy was served with the biscuits – yummy.
Hope I get to return to the Paris Coffee Shop soon. They are open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Do you think it too bad to have chocolate pie for breakfast? I still haven’t tasted the chocolate pie Betty declares to be “the best” she has ever eaten. I know Betty has eaten her share of chocolate pies, and this must be some kind of wonderful.
Blessings to you and yours,
Paris Coffee Shop is located near downtown Fort Worth at 704 W. Magnolia. The prices are reasonable, and the food is good. Do not be surprised if you have to wait to get a table.
