Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and on this day, I had a most wonderful meal. Super Sister and Paul were so right. I loved dining at Kerbey Lane Cafe. Thank you for the treat! From what I understand, Kerbey Lane Cafe is well known throughout Austin, and I can understand why. Breakfast was beyond delicious.
There was about a thirty minute wait on this Saturday morning, but Gary (Yes, I was there long enough to be on a first name basis with Gary.) kept us entertained. Only in Austin, Texas would we be serenaded this early in the morning.
The menu board – lots of good choices. The menu has an “Austin vibe.” Kerbey Lane Cafe uses high quality fresh ingredients. Vegetarians and vegans can certainly find something to eat here.
I am here to tell you, the migas were worth the wait. Scrambled eggs and tortillia strips were seasoned with tomatoes, onions, peppers, and cilantro. Then it was topped with a white queso sauce. Be still my heart! (Oh, no! That could be true if I eat this too often.)
If the migas were not wonderful enough, I also got an order of scrumptious pumpkin pancakes. (The pancakes came with the migas.) These are seriously good – pumpkin and spices in a fluffy pancake. Yummy! You can buy the pumpkin pancake mix at the cafe.
Since the migas were so filling, I couldn not eat all the pancakes. But this goodness could not be left behind. We boxed them up and took them home. I hear from other sources (The Mrs.) that the spicy gingerbread pancakes are worth a trip to Kerbey Lane Cafe also.
Now that Richardson is getting the Austin based Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, I wonder if they would export a Kerbey Lane Cafe to Richardson also. I know I would like that.
Blessings to you and yours,
There are four Kerbey Lane locations in and around Austin. Highly recommended .
