Just wondering?
I like to thank that Jesus never criticized doubters. “Come Thomas, put your hand in my scars.” But, He was hard on those who thought they had all the answers. This being said, it is my opinion that He doesn’t mind my wondering.
The bad storms stormed through Dallas on Tuesday. Major destruction. On the news, people are thanking God. These are the people that have damaged houses and vans from down the street in their yards. It is a phenomenon to thank God when bad things happen. Yes, it could have been worse, and they are alive. Still, how can this be? What is Biblically correct?
During this Easter week, we focus on the death and resurrection of Christ. He suffered. He hurt. He cried. To the end he acknowledged God. — “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” (Luke 23:46).
All I know from my own experience is this. When I found out I had ovarian cancer, Psalm 100 flooded my thoughts.
Oh give thanks unto the Lord for he is good.
Serve the Lord with gladness. Come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord is God.
It is he that has made us and not we ourselves; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise. Be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the Lord is good, his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endureth to all generations.
I cannot explain why this happened, or even how it happened. I know it was not of my doing. For this assurance, I give thanks. Perhaps that is what the man on television felt also – a peace that is beyond understanding.
